Who We Are And What We Do

Impact Services is a multi-services organizations serving senior citizens, main in Anoka and Hennepin counties. Our organization provides Meals on Wheels services for neighbors in need in seventeen cities. Our Meals on Wheels program is more than a hot meal, it provides a daily wellness check making sure the person receiving the meal is safe. If there is an issue, we connect with the person's emergency contact to make them aware of any concern. Impact Services also provide a curriculum for families living with aging parents to help families create a pro-active plan for the concerns that arise with the aging process. This customized plan helps provide peace of mind to help loved ones aging with dignity.

What We Want To Do

Impact Services wants to create a higher level of positivity with the families being served by our Meals on Wheels program. Currently, families only hear from us when their is safety or health concern. We want to provide more communication that is immediate and provides more information about their loved one. We also would like to provide our volunteer drivers with more real time opportunity to report back to our staff any concerns they have while out delivering meals.

How Mobile App Will Help

A mobile app will give us a more immediate opportunity to connect with people concerned about our Meals on Wheels recipients. The primary mode of communication for our staff is the phone. The issue with phone calls is often people are not able to answer a phone call, however having an app would provide us more immediate access to emergency contacts. The app would also provide loved ones with the ability to order meals, cancel meals and know how meal deliver went and if there are any concerns. The app would also provide our volunteer drivers with technology to drive routes without needing to continually be looking at route books that can be distracting when driving. The app would provide driving directions for each of the people receiving meals on a route, as well as, provide drivers the opportunity to give real time updates to our staff about meal delivery.

How Our Organization Will Use Technology

Our organization will use the technology to provide a better service to our constituents. This technology will be used on a daily basis to create more immediacy and depth in interaction. This technology will help create a higher layer of service for families using our services.

Impact Services staff, volunteers and clients will use this technology. As will, caregivers and case managers for our clients.
